About FactsChecks.com

FactsChecks.com is an independent fact-checking and claim-verification website. We investigate viral stories, trending social media claims, and widely shared misinformation — then publish clear, sourced verdicts so readers can make informed decisions.

Our Mission

The internet moves fast. Misinformation spreads faster. Our mission is simple: take the claims circulating online, do the research, cite the sources, and tell you what's actually true. We cover politics, science, health, entertainment, and anything else that has people searching for answers.

How We Fact-Check

Every article on FactsChecks.com follows the same process:

  • Identify the claim — We pinpoint the exact statement or question being checked.
  • Research primary sources — We go to official records, peer-reviewed studies, government data, and direct statements rather than relying on secondary reporting.
  • Apply a verdict — Each fact-check receives one of our standard verdicts: True, Mostly True, Half-True, Mostly False, False, Misleading, or Unverified.
  • Cite everything — All sources are listed at the bottom of every article.

Our Verdicts Explained

  • True — The claim is accurate and there is nothing significant missing.
  • Mostly True — The claim is accurate but requires clarification or context.
  • Half-True — The claim is partially accurate but omits important facts.
  • Mostly False — The claim contains a kernel of truth but is significantly misleading.
  • False — The claim is not accurate.
  • Misleading — The claim may be technically accurate but creates a false impression.
  • Unverified — We cannot confirm or deny the claim with available evidence.
